International Day of Yoga, commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, was celebrated on 21st June. Yoga is a physical,mental and spiritual practice originated in India. This year our college celebrated this day with great enthusiasm and energy. President of Arya Vidayak Foundation Sh. V.P. Bedi Ji and Principal of D.A.V. College For Girls Garhshankar Dr. Kanwalinder Kaur and the members led the celebration by practicing Yoga with the students.
The main aim was to creat world wide awareness on the importance of staying fit and healthy. The theme for this year’s international Yoga Day was ‘Yoga for peace’.
President sir, while addressing the students suggested the students to do Yoga in daily routine to stay fit and healthy. Sh. S.K. Sharma came from Banga as the guest of honour to motivate the students for Yoga and Meditation classes.
